Preschool Storytime
September 24 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Bring in your preschool aged readers and join us for stories, songs, rhymes, and activities! During this week’s apple themed Storytime we will be reading stories about apples and apple trees. We will then make apple and leaf prints and taste different kinds of apples. Do you know what shape is hidden inside an apple? Come to Storytime on the 24th and you just might find out.
Storytimes begin by singing the “Hello Friends” song. Whether you are new or long time friends, kids and adults alike will find themselves making friendships with the Storytime gang. We then sing a seasonal or theme based song. Mr. Zach selects three to four theme based picture books and reads aloud from them. Sitting and paying close attention can be hard work. Between some of the books, we will do some kind of movement activity to get those wiggles out. To end, we will engage in a theme based activity. Each week we change it up among movement activities, coloring, or crafts. We also have games, puzzles, and toys for the kids to play with before or after Storytime. To keep the joy of reading going while at home, adults are free to browse the stacks to look for some books to take home while the kids play together.
Hey, have you seen Leon the Lion? He is our friendly mascot that is named after the library’s founder, Leon Spaulding. He is pretty shy so he tends to hide around the library as well as he can. So please, keep your eyes open for him when you come in. Tell one of the librarians if you happen to spot him. We will give you a reward to thank you for helping us keep up to date on his whereabouts. Just don’t tell anyone else because Leon is too shy to have too many people know where he is. Rewards that you could get right now are a free picture book perfect for preschool aged readers and a free movie ticket.
